Bob and John met each other when Bob was representing a Santa Maria farmer with thousands of acres of farmland and John represented the IRS in its attempts to collect tens of millions of dollars of tax debt. They have been practicing together since John left the federal government in 2008. Bob, John, and Reed have a combined total of more than 40 years of bankruptcy experience, much of it in Santa Barbara, Westlake Village, Arroyo Grande, and other communities nearby. In addition, Reed is the son of a prominent bankruptcy attorney and trustee. The firm’s size and expertise means that it can handle the most complex and the simplest bankruptcy issues equally well. The use of technology – telephone, fax, scanning emails – allows the attorneys to keep in touch with each other and their clientele on a regular basis. How we can help Since 1994, we’ve helped thousands of people in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties regain financial peace in their lives. These people now experience a life free from the stress and worry that comes from watching unpaid bills mount, answering calls from arrogant debt collectors, receiving a lawsuit from a process server, finding an empty spot where a car has been repossessed, missing money from a garnished paycheck, or knowing that their house will be sold at a foreclosure auction. How did they do it? How did they get their financial lives back on track? They decided and took action to ensure peace of mind and a brighter future for themselves and their loved ones. They filed for bankruptcy. And now they’re experiencing the fresh start that bankruptcy provides. Their personal finances are back on track. They’re rebuilding their credit — they’re qualifying for car loans and home mortgages now that filing bankruptcy has helped them to clean up their financial mess. And because of the things they’ve learned in that process, they’re now being much smarter in the financial choices they make. It doesn’t matter how you got in debt. It doesn’t matter who says it’s your fault, or what circumstances occurred to you. Being in debt now doesn’t mean you have to be in debt for the rest of your life. Bankruptcy offers you a new beginning, a fresh start. What can you do with that fresh start? Think about it. You may have a family to take care of. A job to go to. A community that depends in some small or large part on you. You have dreams to fulfill. Almost 140,000 people filed for bankruptcy in Southern California in 2010, and projections are that even more people will file bankruptcy this year. You probably have friends, family members, neighbors and co-workers who have filed for bankruptcy. So you’re not alone. Whether due to job loss, illness, divorce, or the shockwaves of the financial crisis, many individuals and families in our Southern California communities find themselves struggling financially and dealing with debt collection calls, lawsuits, wage garnishments, repossessions, evictions and foreclosures. We can help. We know the law. We know the people who administer or participate in the bankruptcy system: the judges, the court clerks, the trustees, and many of the creditors. We know how to counsel you to get through the process as easily as possible, and we know what to do if an unexpected turn occurs in your case. If you are in financial trouble, call us. We can help you determine the best steps to take in order to find financial freedom again. |
